About Kiki

Founder of Courageous Births and Beyond

I support women and families through pregnancy, birth and the transition into parenthood.

My journey into this work

My journey into this work began with my own experiences of birth. Like many women, I entered pregnancy with hopes and expectations, but my second birth left me feeling that I had lost my voice and my sense of control.

Although my baby was born safely, I was left with questions about how birth decisions are made, how women are supported, and what it feels like when your experience does not unfold in the way you hoped.

That experience became the beginning of a new path for me. I wanted to understand birth better, to learn how women can feel more informed and confident, and to help create the kind of support I had needed.

Through training as an antenatal teacher and discovering hypnobirthing, I found tools that helped me reconnect with my body, understand the physiology of birth and feel empowered in my choices.

When I became pregnant with my third baby, I approached birth differently. I prepared, surrounded myself with support and trusted myself in a way I had not before. That birth was a powerful reminder of what can happen when women feel informed, supported and listened to.

But my journey did not end when my baby was born.

Becoming a mother is its own huge transition, and I realised how much support is needed not only in preparing for birth, but in navigating the early months of motherhood too.

This is why I created Courageous Births and Beyond — to offer spaces where women can prepare for birth, find connection during pregnancy and feel supported as they step into motherhood.

Why Courageous Births and Beyond exists

Over time, I realised that preparing for birth is about more than learning techniques for labour. It is about building confidence, understanding your choices and feeling supported through one of the biggest transitions of your life.

And support should not stop when your baby arrives.

Becoming a mother can be beautiful, overwhelming, joyful and challenging — sometimes all at once.

From birth preparation to motherhood circles, my aim is to create places where women feel informed, respected and never alone.

My approach

I believe every woman deserves to feel informed, respected and supported as she prepares for birth and steps into motherhood.

My role is not to tell you what your birth should look like, or promise that everything will go according to plan. Birth is unpredictable, and every woman’s journey is unique.

Instead, I help you build the confidence, knowledge and tools to navigate your own experience with trust.

Whether you are preparing for birth, recovering from a previous experience or finding your feet in the early months of motherhood, you deserve support that sees you as a whole person — not just as someone preparing to have a baby.

A little more about me

Before starting Courageous Births and Beyond, I spent many years teaching History. I loved helping people understand complex ideas, ask questions and find their confidence — skills that now shape the way I support families.

Outside of my work, I am usually found navigating life with my three children, drinking tea, reading, walking and reminding myself that motherhood is something we all figure out one day at a time.

Because birth matters.

And motherhood was never meant to be navigated alone.

Love always,
